MUMBAI: Chris Morris, the most expensive player sold in the IPL auction, hit a not-out 36 off just 18 balls to give Rajasthan Royals just two balls to spare in Thursday's IPL match against Delhi Capitals. An interesting victory with three wickets. Chasing the target, Rajasthan lost their seven wickets for 104 runs but Morris hit four sixes off just 18 balls to take Rajasthan to 36 not out. Rajasthan finished the match with 150 for seven in 19.4 overs.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to field first. Onadkat bowled brilliantly and in his first three overs sent Delhi's top three batsmen to the pavilion. Captain Rishbh Pant played a brilliant half-century of 51 off 32 balls with the help of nine fours which helped the Delhi team reach a fightable score. Lalit Yadav (20), Tom Crane (23) and Chris Vokes (15 not out) corrected Delhi's score. Marcus Steins fell victim to Mustafizur Rehman without opening an account. R Ashwin remained unbeaten on seven runs while Kegisu Rabada remained unbeaten on nine runs. Pant shared a 41-run stand with Lalit Yadav for the fifth wicket.
Unadkat bowled Prithviraj Shaw (2) in his second and first over of the innings, Shekhar Dhawan (9) in the next over and Ajinkya Rahane (8) to take Delhi to 36 for three. Staines was the fourth batsman to be dismissed for 37. Pant then took over Delhi's innings with Lalit Yadav, but after completing his half-century, he was run out on a Ryan Prague throw. Lalit Yadav was dismissed for 100. Tom Crane was dismissed for 128 and R Ashwin for 136.
For Rajasthan, Unadkat took three wickets for 15 runs, Mustafiz took two wickets for 29 runs and Morris took one wicket for 27 runs.
