Shekhar hit three fours in 28 runs off 26 balls. Prithvi completed his second half century of the season and he was run out by Jagdish Sochhat in a run stealing cycle. Prithvi hit seven fours and a six in 53 off 39 balls. The wickets of both the openers fell in the space of three runs.

Steven Smith and skipper Rishbh Pant shared 58 runs for the third wicket. Siddharth Cole's big shot was caught by Pant Sochat. Pant hit four fours and a six in 37 off 27 balls. Shimron Heitmeyer played Cole's ball higher and was caught by Ken Williamson. Hetmire made just one run. Smith scored an unbeaten 34 off 25 balls with three fours and a six, while Marcus Stevens remained unbeaten on two.
