In the second match of Indian Premier League 2021, Delhi Capitals defeated Chennai Super Kings in a one-sided manner. Delhi lost eight wickets for just 189 runs to reach the target of 189 runs. Earlier in the season, left-arm batsman Suresh Reena, who was out for 54 runs, and Sam Crane's 34-run storming innings helped the Chennai Super Kings take seven wickets in 20 overs against the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium. However, after that Sam Crane hit big fours and sixes in the last overs with Ravindra Jadeja and took the team's score to 188 runs. Jadeja was bowled on the last ball of the innings.
Sam Crane hit four fours and two sixes in 34 runs off just 15 balls while Jadeja returned to the pavilion with 26 runs off 17 balls with the help of three fours. For Delhi, Chris Vokes took two for 18 and Owais Khan took two for 23.
